I pulled up at the ferry terminal raring to go! Gave the person in the booth my details, and I wasn't on there system. Gulp. Turns out, I had pulled up at the DFS booth and not the P & O booth! They let me out the exit and I came back through the P & O booth.

I met some other bikers on the ferry....

Go!

Today marks the start! I left from Dad's house in Banbury, UK, to travel round the world on a motorcycle. Shortly after leaving Dad's house, I pulled up to call my brother to say goodbye. The first stretch of today's ride was an easy ride but tough going thinking about family.

It was mostly moto...

This post covers multiple days riding the NC500.

Arriving early into Invereness, I couldn't wait any longer to start the NC500 route! But... I had forgotten to load the route onto my GPS the night before. That was really daft of me! Anyway, route now loaded, I started.

The NC500 was incredible...

Woke at 0600 but departed slightly later than planned today at 0830. I'm sure I'll get quicker packing up camp!

Today, there was one road that brought back a great memory from my rider training. It was the first time I went out on a 600cc bike—a Hornet—and there was a specific road that I recall. The instructor asked me to give the throttle a squeeze within the speed limit. The acceleration felt quick as the...

Before a longer ride today, I sorted out carrying water and tools. I added a luggage rack to the rear and secured my Kriega bag to fit two liters of water and my tool roll. Job done

Next, I replaced the stock oil drain plug with a magnetic one. Even with lubrication in the engine, tiny metallic...

It has been a long time coming. Today, I collected my new motorcycle from the Honda dealer in Newcastle upon Tyne.

It's a 2018 Honda CRF250LA in red, but not just any old red; according to the manufacturer, it's ...

Riding the bike away from the dealer, I felt both excitement and a little...
